No on is allowed to complain about the cold until they come up here for five minutes.

So I was looking at the blog, and I was like "Hm....whose turn is it to blog?" So I looked at the list and oh.....shoot. Me. Goody. So here I go. School is going well, just a little stressful but I'm sure I'll survive. Just two more months until I'm done! THANK HEAVENS!!!!!!

Let's see, what else? I miss Baboo (Britian), but that's not really new. I show off his and Kannon's pictures to anyone and everyone that I see. On my binder for my classes I have a bunch of family pics on the front cover and today someone commented on how cute Kannon is. I smiled and said thanks but inside I was like "I KNOW RIGHT???? I HAVE THE CUTEST NEPHEWS IN THE WORLD!!!!!"

Okay, on to the good stuff. I'm sure all of you have already heard, but I'm kind of dating someone. His name is Jonathan Baxter and he's from Utah. He's really nice and he's hilarious. I love how he totally gets my sense of humor and doesn't leave me sitting there in silence after I crack a joke that only I think is funny. He graduated the same year as me....but we may not be the same age (dun dun dun).

We went ice skating the other night and well, you know how I like to Rollerblade? He he he he he. He was the one that had the idea to go, I promise, but I guess he's just adventurous because I was skating in circles around him the whole time. It was cute to see him try so hard though.

Anyway, it's only been a little over a week but we'll see how it goes. Wanna see him? Of course you do.

Anyway, I'm going to be late for class so that's all for me. I love you all so much...especially Baboo and Kannon!

Caitlyn

P.S. I had to make a stupid blog for my Family Relations class. Basically, every week I just have to post a stupid, cheesy paragraph about what I learned or whatever. So stupid. But anyway, he wants us to get people to read our blogs and post lots of comments on them. He checks to see if they are. So if you could all help me out, I know they are really stupid posts, but a grade is a grade. I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys!!

Just wanted to share...

Most of you have met or have heard me talk about my sweet friend Jackie who was my roommate here at BYU-I for the past two years. She is such a wonderful girl and we became really close over the past couple of years. Even this summer when we were both off track and I was in Utah and she was home in Kentucky we talked on the phone every single day. Anyway, she left on a mission this past August (Mesa, Arizona Spanish speaking) and saw Bridger quite often when she was in the MTC. She said the first time she saw him she went up to him and said, "Hey Bridger!" And he said "Jackie! Hi!!" She was so shocked that he still remembered her after having only briefly met her a couple times. She said she saw him at least a couple times every week and they took this picture for me. I've had it for a while now, but it took me a while to get it scanned onto my laptop. I know you don't know Jackie very well, but I thought I'd share it anyway because it made me so happy. This was taken shortly before Bridger left for Merida in October.

Love you all! See you next week!

It's That Time Again!

Hello Family! Now that Summer is coming to an end it's time to start blogging again. I'll email each of you individually when it's your turn to post a blog. I know we're all ridiculously busy, but if all of you could write even a quick, short post about how things are going, even just a few sentences, the rest of us would really appreciate it. Also, since Bridger is gone and each of us are already taking time out of our busy schedules to read and respond to letters and emails from him, I'm going to space out every one's turns more than I usually do so you don't have to blog as much as usual. But of course, always feel free to post even when it's not your turn.

Also, sorry about the horrible quality on the picture I used for the blog title. We could never get it scanned onto the computer just right. Thanks everyone!! Love you all!

Oh, and just to make this post a bit more interesting, here are a few pictures from Danielle and Bret's wedding(and trust me, it was hard to just pick a few but I feel bad showing too many of them before I've even finished editing them or given them to Dani and Bret so most of these are of Kannon). Hope you all like them!!

Secret Contest

Okay--funny story: So I usually just email one person at a time when it is their turn to post on the blog, wait for them to post, then email the next person, and so on. But the next three people whose turn it was to blog this time (Dad, Danielle, and Jasmine) all have tendencies to be a little flaky when it comes to their turn to blog. Or at least they procrastinate blogging. So I decided to make a secret contest of it. My roommate, Jackie, helped me think of it. We decided that I would email all three people at the same time, and the first person to blog would get a special prize! And guess what! JASMINE WINS!!!! YAY!!! I didn't tell you this before because I wanted to see who would actually be the first person to post without the extra motivation. So good job, Jasmine! We will discuss your prize later. I'll text you. There may or may not be a second place prize....it's a mystery. So Dad and Danielle, good luck!!

I love you all!!!

P.S. More contests to come that will involve everyone. This is fun!!

Happy Valentines Day!

Okay, so valentines day isn't for another week, but I won't be blogging on here until after that so I get to say it early. Also, thanks to everyone for taking time to keep updated on the blog despite all your busy schedules. I know it can be hard to make the time for it but it is really appreciated!! Especially by those who live farthest away.
There isn't really a whole lot going on with me. Just class, homework, eat, sleep, and work over and over again. Kind of lame, I know. As always, being an art major is a little frustrating when you are being forced to take certain classes that aren't part of your emphasis like watercolor and ceramics and the majority of people in the class are a million times better than you and all you can do is mumble something awkward about how you're only taking the class to graduate as you turn in your assignment feeling nothing but the utmost embarrassment and humiliation. I personally think its lame that we are required to take those classes because most of them grade you on how great your work is which means I only get a B average on most assignments because I can't draw/paint/sculpt for the life of me. I'm a photo major for crying out loud! What do they expect? Anyway, that's my life at the moment.
I like my job though. I have the same early morning custodial job in the Taylor building that I had last year with the same awesome boss, Brian, and really great coworkers.
Oh yeah, story time. So a couple years ago I became friends with this guy named Chris who worked early morning custodial with me. He's from North Carolina and he's the only member of his family to join the church. Everyone else is really against the church. So anyway, Chris went on a mission to California (which his parents were livid about) which is hard enough for him, but then a couple months after he gets back from his mission his mom dies of some strange disease, and his father partly blames him because he feels that his mom would have lived longer if Chris hadn't stressed her out so much by going on a mission. So now he's back at BYU-Idaho for school and, just like old times, we start hanging out a lot. He's a great guy, really positive, and tries to do what is right. Just a great friend, all in all. But then he asked me on a date. Then he asked me on another one. And then another one. At first I wasn't sure what to think about it, or what I felt, but now that I've had time to think about it, I've realized that I'm not interested in him in that way. I wish I was, he's a great guy, but it's just not there. You know? So great. Now I have to go be a jerk and tell him I'm not interested. It's like, oh, I'm sorry your life is horrible right now. Here, let me add to it! Oh gosh. Anyway, wish me luck with that.
Other than that things are going great. I can't wait for the semester to be over but until then I'm just keeping busy! Love and miss you all!
Caitlyn
P.S. Mom got me this awesome shirt as sort of an early Valentines day present.

It's pretty much my most favorite shirt in the world now, so get used to seeing me wear it all the time. And thanks again mom!!!

Reports from the North

Hello everyone! There really isn’t too much going on with me. I finally caught up on all of the homework I was behind on, which was a huge load off of my back. Now I’m just focusing on keeping up and maybe even trying to get head starts on final projects. I am hoping to spend at least a day during my vacation home for a week during thanksgiving break doing homework. I might need help getting motivated though. Mom and Dad, you might need to push me a little.
On Saturday my roommate Jackie and I went on a photo shoot.

Jackie has been my roommate here for over a year now and she’s always been my photo shoot buddy whenever I’m given assignments in my photo class. Anyway, it was SOO COLD!!! I was wearing gloves and my hands were hurting so bad the whole time!!! But at least I feel like I got a few good pictures taken.
Other than that, nothing else has really been going on. I sometimes wonder if most of you guys have fallen off the face of the planet, because I never hear anything, but then I read Travis and Lacee’s blog and I feel better. Or Bridger will text me back (most of the rest of you don’t) and I’m happy again. But I understand that everyone is busy. Anyway, I have to get back to homework. Ugh. I love you all!
Oh, also, I made a photography blog for myself a while ago. You guys should all check it out and let me know if you like it or if there is anything I should change or fix.

http://www.caitlynautumnphotography.blogspot.com

And Brigham, I put up instructions on how to post a picture on the blog in a comment under your most recent post.

See you all next week!

Back to the books!

Well, it's my turn to write but I'm afraid I'm short on time so I won't be able to say very much...but I don't really have much to say anyway so I guess it doesn't matter. Ha ha. I had a blast this weekend even though it was CRAZY busy. I personally think that everything turned out quite well despite the little mishaps like the camera incident at the temple and my shirt being stained and having something in my teeth for over an hour before dad mentioned it to me, and the tiny reception incidents. I actually had a lot of fun. The dance was especially wonderful. I still crack up when I think about that one part..."if you're ever in trouble I'll be there on the double just send for me oh baby...HEY!!" lol. So funny. Anyways, I missed two days of school so I'm kind of freaking out about making sure I'm still caught up and plus just staying on top of things in general. My friend Julie is coming up to visit me this weekend and so I'm kind of in a rush to get things done by the time she gets here, and that includes preparing my sunday school lesson for this coming sunday. And yes, for those of you who haven't heard, I am a sunday school teacher. I must have offended the bishop in the preexistance or something to get that calling but hey, what can you do? I'm way excited to start editing Jasmine's engagement pictures. I personally thought I could have done way better but she seemed to like them so I guess we're all good! I'm glad Lacee and Travis have decided to let us in on their little blog. I was personally dying to know how Travis did on his test. He kind of left us hanging there. And I think what he did for Lacee's birthday was so romantic. Points to you, Travis!
I plan on spending lots more time with all of you when I come home for Thanksgiving break. This weekend was just so busy and I spent what little free time I did get on attempting to catch up on sleep and taking pictures but Thanksgiving will be better. Anyway, I'd better go to class but keep blogging! This includes you too, Chance. You're part of the family now. It's too late to turn back (Evil laugh). Oh, and I posted a few pics from the wedding (as you can obviously see). Sessely, let us know when you can see the professional ones from the temple. I want to see them asap!! Love you all!

Wedding Weekend!

Let's not beat around the bush

First off, Mom, don't worry. People still look at the blog. It has been a day and a half since you posted your last post and I just read it so I think a day and a half time is pretty good, considering how busy everyone is. I'll try to get back on the ball and start emailing people individually when it's their turn to blog. I honestly think that summer is probably the busiest time for the Talbot family. I really think things will pick up again in the fall for our little blog again. During the fall and winter things are more organized and people have more set schedules and are therefore able to schedule or set aside time to blog, but during the summer things are so much more sparatic that it's nearly impossible to remember, let alone find a spare moment to blog.

Anyway, mom pretty much updated everyone on things with me...but I'll do my best anyway. Yes, I did get a haircut, the same "prince albert" (as Lacee likes to call it) one that I got when I was young. Ugh. I miss my long hair. I'm SO growing it out. My summer has been a welcomed break from the stresses of school. I really enjoyed having my own bedroom for the first time ever in my life for the first two months that I was home, and now Jasmine has moved home again so I'm sharing with her and that's cool too. There really isn't much to report. I work and then I work and then I work some more. I'm really shooting to get a laptop and brand spank'n new SLR camera for the fall. So yeah, I work. In the small amount of time that I don't spend working, mom loves to think up little activities for me to do (cough cough-cleaning). And I really enjoy reading for a little bit every night when I get home from work. On my days off I try to spend as much time with Emilee before she leaves on her mission in July. So yeah, that's me. Look forward to your emails that will tell you when it's your turn to blog and please don't put it off. One of the most unique things about our family is our closeness. Let's not let ourselves become distanced like the majority of families out there. I know it's like another chore on our already long lists but in the end it will only benefit everyone. Love you all!

This just in from Rexburg...

I'm sorry that so many of you can't see the videos. I didn't realize so many of you couldn't get youtube. But I'm glad that those of you who do have youtube enjoyed them. I'm so excited that I'll be back in three weeks! First of all, then it will be MY turn to finally have Caitlyn and Brigham time again (which was probably one of the BIGGEST things I've missed these past three months), and also, I will finally get to see Kannon again! You guys are all so lucky to live so close to him! It's bad enough for me not to be able to see him, but the fact that I live way farther away from him than the rest of you is just horrible!!!
Work has been my only social life this semester, so I'm going to miss it. I have become really good friends with my boss and a couple other people at work. I'm kind of sad because the other day my boss came and found me where I was cleaning and asked me if I was going to be here next semester. I said no, and then he immediately started trying to convince me that I should. At first I thought it was just because he was low on employees for summer semester, but then he kept on going and going and I was like, "Why do you want me to stay so much?" And he said, "Because Kolby is graduating this semester and I wanted you to be the new lead student." I was so flattered! Kolby has been the lead student for a long time (the lead student is like the supervisor of the building-right below the boss. The lead student gets paid more than the regular employees, and they are in charge when it's the boss' day off plus they have bigger daily responsibilities and they get their own set of keys and stuff. Basically, I think it's a big deal. There is only one lead student per building). My friend Leighann has been working there for a semester longer than I have and she's going to be here next semester and he STILL asked me instead!

And I was like, "are you serious??" and Brian said, "Of course! You never miss a single day! And you're the only person that finishes their job early every day that I don't have to ask 'did you do this? did you remember this? did you forget to do this?' because you're so thorough. Why do you think I've had you train every new person we've had this semester?" Then he went on trying to convince me to stay by bribing me with the benefit of the raise and the idea of graduating a semester earlier than I had planned, etc. Dang it this gosh darn low budget of a college student! I was so sad to turn it down!! Oh well.

Last night I made a homemade roast Sunday dinner just like our family does, and my roommates (and their boyfriends) loved it! Woot woot!

Everything else is going great. I'm kind of crammed for time-finals are coming up WAAAAY fast and, being an art major, most of my teachers are requiring HUGE projects that are going to take forever to put together in addition to a final. Ugh...I can make it...(three more semesters, three more semesters, three more semesters, three more semesters, three more semesters...)!!!
Love you all! Keep up the blogging!

Caitlyn

P.S. Jasmine and Brigham! I saw that movie too! My friend Justin took me to see it. It was SOOOOO weird!!! Especially since the three of us have crazy, intense imaginations! But I secretly liked it too.

Caitlyn's Week

This weekend really was great. It was nice to just sit around and be lazy and I’m pretty much beside myself with excitement and satisfaction at the fact that I got mom hooked on Supernatural. Tee hee hee!!

Yes, it’s true. I unfortunately got my hair cut. I knew I was making a mistake from the start. I asked Lindsay [my former roommate, and current roommate (Amanda’s) little sister] to only cut off the dead stuff. Well, apparently there was more dead stuff than I thought, and the layers were a lot shorter than I realized, because she told me that to really get ALL of the dead stuff off, I would have to cut all the way up to my shoulders. Well, Michelle and Chelsea started going off about how it would look so good and that I should do it, and even though I knew they were wrong and I would hate it, I consented, mostly for the sake of getting rid of the dead stuff. And as I suspected, as soon as she was finished, I looked in the mirror and I hated it. It was nice because it was different, but overall, uh, no. Everyone has been telling me for the past year that I look much better with longer hair, and I liked how I could do anything with it, but you can’t do anything with short hair. By golly this better grow out really fast or so help me---I don’t know what I’ll do, but I’m sure it will be dramatic. Even Bridger said, “It doesn’t look THAT bad.” Sigh. The humiliation.

Everything else is going good. I’m ridiculously behind on sleep and that scares me because I can definitely tell a difference in my performance in school, but I know I’m doing the best I can under the circumstances. I have to work. Pretty sure I’m broke. So I don’t have a choice. However, my roommates are highly entertained by my escalating giggles as it gets later into the day. Apparently the closer it gets to my bedtime, the more amusing my behavior becomes. On a positive note, my English teacher really loves my writing (YAY!) Although considering the B+ I currently have in that class, you wouldn’t really know. I have to admit, I’m rather proud of my work if I do say so myself. Ha ha.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure I’ve given up on Danielle and Jasmine. I think they’ve died. But it’s been great to hear from the rest of you. Yay for blogging! I’ve certainly found out information I wouldn’t have otherwise. Speaking of which, Dad, I only have one word for you: What? And by that I mean, when did you get this new calling? What exactly does it entail? I never heard about any of this! Also, I’m excited to see pics and hear about Bridger’s trip to DC as well as Brigham’s school events. I love you all!

Uploading Mobile Pictures

For Dad and anyone else that wants to upload photos from their phones, this is how I do it:

Put the picture in a text message as if you were going to send it to someone via text. Then.....
Option #1 Instead of selecting a person to send it to, see if there is an option for "new email address". If so, just text in your email address and then send it. It should send to your email.
Option #2: If there is no option for email, try selecting "new phone number" when you go to send it in a text and try texting in your email address. It may still not work, especially if there isn't an @ option...but give it a shot.
Option #3 You can try going into your phone book first and adding your email address as either an email address or a phone number, and then try to send the picture in a text using that address already added to your phone book.
Option #4 If none of that works, or if it's just too much hassle, you can just text them to me or mom and we can email them to you from our phones.

I love you!! Please keep blogging!!! Especially if we haven't heard from you yet!!
